I really hadn’t thought about leaving this place
For a long time It had been my home
If you don’t count every other place
The number dialed changes, but it’s still me on this end of the phone
I’m on the phone yea, ten cents a minute
On this night the stars will be leading it’s clear
But is it back to where I come from, or just out of here

Let’s talk about driving all night, itinerary arrival
With a schedule so tight, just eating time for our survival
This trip we’ve made has got me thinking
What makes a song sound new

So once again I’m shaking hands, and embracing my friends
The day is sad when it ends
Why does it have to be good-bye again
Then I think about my mama saying how,
That it’s never goodbye, it’s just so long for now
I’m coming back anyhow, and I’ll be

Driving all night, itinerary arrival
With a schedule so tight, just eating time for our survival
This trip we’ve made has got me thinking
What makes a song sound new

And then they ask me
What you gonna do with that envelope
I’m gonna push it over the edge
What you gonna do with that envelope
I’m gonna push it, I’m gonna push it
I’m gonna push it right over the edge

Bumper to bumper up ahead in the night,
Now I’ve got add another hour ‘til arrival, and that’s
One less hour sleep I’ll get tonight
I can see the light kissing the night good night
