I really hadnt thought about leaving this place
For a long time It had been my home
If you dont count every other place
The number dialed changes, but its still me on this end of the phone
Im on the phone yea, ten cents a minute
On this night the stars will be leading its clear
But is it back to where I come from, or just out of here
Lets talk about driving all night, itinerary arrival
With a schedule so tight, just eating time for our survival
This trip weve made has got me thinking
What makes a song sound new
So once again Im shaking hands, and embracing my friends
The day is sad when it ends
Why does it have to be good-bye again
Then I think about my mama saying how,
That its never goodbye, its just so long for now
Im coming back anyhow, and Ill be
Driving all night, itinerary arrival
With a schedule so tight, just eating time for our survival
This trip weve made has got me thinking
What makes a song sound new
And then they ask me
What you gonna do with that envelope
Im gonna push it over the edge
What you gonna do with that envelope
Im gonna push it, Im gonna push it
Im gonna push it right over the edge
Bumper to bumper up ahead in the night,
Now Ive got add another hour til arrival, and thats
One less hour sleep Ill get tonight
I can see the light kissing the night good night
